Welcome to the Cochrane Archery Club

Our club was reestablished in 1999 due to an increased interest in the sport of archery. Although the club was initially designed to include many other sports such as skeet shooting for example it has evolved into an Archery only club.

The club is a non-profit organization and as such is built on volunteers. Our first and foremost goal is to promote archery for everyone, especially for the children. It is a great family sport however so adults are welcome learners as well. On our typical club nights (Monday and Thursday) the shooting occurs from 1900 to 2100 where all members can take part.

There is usually a Level One Coach (National Coach Certification Program) present as well as several other individuals that have been in archery for a number of years. Because there is a wide variation in the levels of competence we try to help each archer individually as opposed to giving general instruction to the whole group.

The Cochrane Archery Club is located 11.8 kms north of the HWY 22 and 1A intersection. Turn right on TWP 272 and go 0.8 km to a paved driveway and Smiley face on a bus shelter. We are located to the left around back in a Big Blue Building.

Indoor and Outdoor Target are set at 10 M, 15 M, 20 M, 25 M, 30 M, and 35 M. The Outdoor range has two additional targets at 40 M and 50 M. 3D shoots occur occasionally throughout the indoor season. Full size foam animal targets are set up at varying unknown distances and arrows are lofted at the marked vital areas. You can keep score if you want but you don’t have to.

Membership costs are on a separate attachment. The prices listed are those for the beginning of the year. Rates are prorated on a monthly basis. A large portion of the fees are to pay for heating the facility. Outdoor shoots occur from June to October and there is no additional cost to the group.

Bows (limited supply) can be rented. Arrows can be purchaised and they are the property of the archer. It is suggested that one has 3 for each round of shooting and 3 more as spares. Usually there are always more arrows available for purchase on the club night so you don’t have to worry too much about the spares.

For further information on the club, shoot us an email to info@cochranearchery.ca or use the contact form on the top right of the homepage.
